Community Consultation

It is important that community leaders and local slavery - related initiatives play a pivotal role in the Memorial process. Due to past constraints, including the pandemic, consultation meetings have progressed slowly. These meetings will now recommence, along with the city Universities and Museums. Assisting in the implementation will be Chief Angus Chukuemeka a Trustee of the In Their Name charity, governing the Memorial vision and Project Director Ana Green who is a member of the Women's Commonwealth Society and a member of the United Nations Sustainable Goals 8 Network, which addresses the plight of modern slavery. Ana was also asked to set up the Cabinet Office initiated Racial Inclusivity Audit for Liverpool.
